PRESENTATION

A protected, entirely pedestrian eco-resort recreating the atmosphere of the Picardy coast at the turn of the 20th century. The architecture respects the environment of a site divided into 5 areas:

  • "La Place" Area: comprised of a square beside the Great Lake with a small 2-floor building with large windows housing the apartments and 2 small buildings housing the “ Maison de Belle Dune” and main reception. On the south side, the square opens onto a fully-equipped bank of the artificial Lake.
  • "Eaux Vives" Area: spreads out behind the “La Place” Area and is linked to the latter by pedestrian pathways. It is comprised of groups of 2 to 4 semi-detached houses, some of which border the Great Lake or the canal, providing an exceptional view over the lake, the surrounding scenery or the golf course.
  • "Le Grand Lac" Area: continuing on from “La Place” with a pedestrian path linking the two, it is comprised of small semi-detached houses overlooking the lake.
  • "Le Hameau" Area: semi-detached houses on the golf course and right next to the Club House.
  • "l'Ile aux Oiseaux" Area: located in very tranquil surroundings on the edge of the golf course and bordering a small lake.

    In front of the houses, 2.5 hectares of lake, approximately 1.60 m in depth.

THE LITTLE TOURIST TRAIN (subject to traffic)

  • Wooden shelters allows children to see all the familar and originals animals (sheep, gees, hens, ducks …)

  • Introductory sessions on Sundays or Mondays supervised by instructors, and paying practice sessions (3D target bow, crossbow, blowpipe, Peruvian arrows, javelin)

  • Reception for the activity centre
  • Hall with vivarium exhibition, fresh and sea water aquariums.

CYCLE LANES*

  • Cycle lanes and pedestrian paths linking Fort - Mahon to Quend – Plage, pass through the resort.
  • 24 km Tadorne Boucle route between the Baie de l’Authie and the Baie de Somme via small, marshy tracks.
  • Full day or ½ day bicycle rental in the resort.

THE RESORT AND SURROUNDING AREA

  • Marquenterre Ornithological Park: a natural reserve in the Baie de Somme. 300 hectares of sand and mud flats, covered by the sea twice daily.
  • Maison de l’Oiseau: bird centre - a unique place for information and bird-watching. The closeness of the birds and the handlers’ knowledge will help you to recognise birds from their silhouette and colour and learn about their behaviour.
  • The Valloires Gardens: bordering the Authie, a magnificent landscape garden boasting over 5,000 varieties of rare bushes and roses, at the foot of a Cistercian Abbey.
  • The Baie de Somme Railway: 16 km-ride in an old steam or diesel locomotive train across the “mollières” and salt-meadows.
  • Boat trips or walks in the bay to see the seals and explore the surroundings.
  • Valley of the Somme: its numerous lakes, the “ Puits Tournants ”, the Vaux Belvedere, Abbeville, Samara Park (25 ha), Amiens and its Cathedral and Picardy Museum, the Naours Caves (refuges developed into a fully-fledged town).
  • The Bay and Valley of L’Authie: Fort-Mahon Plage, Crécy Forest, Etaple-sur-Mer with its fishing museum and the sight of the sea sweeping over the bay at spring tide, its floating huts…

    - The Chinese Cemetery: Qing Ming in Noyelles-sur-mer, 1st Saturday of April (subject to change): traditional Chinese festival paying homage to their ancestors who died in France during the 1st World War.
  • May (date subject to change): the Bicycle Festival, the Water sports Festival
  • September: the Cathedral Festival (subject to change)
  • October: “La semaine du Goût” in the Valloires Gardens: discovering former fruit and vegetables and original meals around the garden’s stoves.

From Paris (220 km): Paris-L'Isle Adam A 16 motorway towards Berck/Boulogne/Calais, then take exit No. 24 “Baie de Somme/Fort-Mahon”. Take the D 940 towards Fort-Mahon/Quend. At Quend, follow “Fort-Mahon”, and “Fort-Mahon/Belle Dune/Aquaclub” on the D 32, then the D 432 and D 332.
