Cherbourg Golf Course9 Holes 5686 metres Par 72 Location - North Normandy This excellent golf course is probably the most beautiful nine holes in Normandy, and is situated on the high plateau of Cherbourg. This very flat course yet very wooded, and contains long narrow fairways and small greens. Cherbourg Golf Course is relatively short, at only 5686m from the back tees with a FFG slope rate of 137. It will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year (2005), and the maturity of the course is clearly visible. Players will appreciate the 1st hole, a par 4 dogleg left with a difficult green approach. The 5th, which is another, dogleg right of 349m or the 6th, a 167m par 3. The photos show a beautiful mixture of tree lined and narrow fairways with picturesque views of Cherbourg's town and harbour. The view of the sea is possible on the 1st tee, on the 2nd, 3rd, 8th and 9th greens. Situated in a superb tourist area and belonging to the turn of Cherbourg, it could become an 18-hole course soon. After or before golf, you can also visit the sea museum "la cite de la mer", near the boat station and the ferry terminal.
