This was the traditional golf club of Strasbourg before Wantzenau and Kempferholf came along. By comparison, the architecture has created a more traditional golf course with only a few water hazards, notably on the Red course, where trees add further difficulties over a less elaborate landscape.

The hardest holes are grouped at the start of the yellow course, but the full layout is somewhat reassuring and will hardly cause much visual or technical stirring amongst the best players. By contrast, the many members enjoy playing here with the family, especially since the fairways are in excellent condition all year round.

The greens are well defended but not from the front, thus allowing the easier chipped shot onto the putting surface. This is first and foremost a club for locals, although the course is open to green-fees (not so easy on week-end). After rehabilitation of the Club House, welcome work on the course has improved standards immensely.
