Le Golf Parc - Course ReviewAfter visiting the course on the 3rd August 2004, this course review gives you the complete picture of the course before you consider booking a tee time there. The course was in magnificent condition, the greens were very fast, yet in some cases very large. The fairways were cut to perfection and the tees were some of the best I've seen. The clubhouse from outside seems relatively small, but once your venture inside you discover that actually the clubhouse is very smart, clean and offers a wide selection of drinks, excellent menu, and a pro shop. One of the course trademarks is that all the buggies have GPS, this gives you a detailed picture of the course, hole by hole. When you drive from the tee to your ball the GPS gives you the exact length from your ball to the tee! And then when you are within reach of the green, the GPS also shows the green in detail, showing the contours of the green. The buggies are essential; some paths from green to the next tee can take up to 2 minutes, on a buggy! Hole 1 Par 4, 361 yards A large wide fairway to start off with, Driver can be taken out straight away, the green is blind and dog legged to the left. The green is small, but not very well guarded, a par on the first and you know your on the way to a great round. Hole 2 Par 4, 384 yards The tee is elevated and once again the green is blind and dog legged to the left. The island green of the 9th is visible and at first you assume you are aiming for this green far away, but when you check on the GPS you soon realise that a straight drive is essential to be able to reach the green with a 7 or 8 iron. Hole 3 Par 3, 175 yards This hole is very tricky, seems shorter than it actually is, take a club higher than normal, as the green slopes down. I landed at the top of the green 30 ft from the hole, and then the ball rolled down 50 -60 ft on to the fairway. Hole 4 Par 4, 436 yards This difficult hole brings into play a tee shot over water, river adjacent along side the fairway, and then an island green with two bunkers surrounding it for comfort. You will do well to stay dry on this hole. Hole 5 Par 4, 360 yards This hole once again brings into play water; you must drive from island tees over 150 yards of water onto a blind fairway. Hole 6 Par 4, 315 yards This hole takes a good few minutes to reach after a long drive in the golf buggy. The drive seems easy, this hole has a very wide fairway, the most important factor should be to think about the second shot, as the green is raised and blind. Hole 7, Par 5, 540 yards For me this is the most scenic hole of the course. After climbing up the path in the buggy for a good minute or two, you find yourself on the highest point of the course. Over looking the French countryside you want to stand there all day. The fairway and the green are so far down you feel as though you've hit a 380 yard drive, yet the GPS will soon bring you back to reality. Hole 8, Par 3, 157 yards This tiny par 3 is a very fun hole to play, tee over 130 yards over water onto a small green, take your seven iron out and play safe and cautiously. I found the water twice! Hole 9, Par 5, 501 yards Very straight and long this hole only really creates a tricky shot on the approach to the green, which is highly banked up and the tee position can be very hard to attack. Hole 10, Par 4, 340 yards Another island tee off over 100 yards of water, then the hole becomes more of a challenge with a very narrow slopped green. Hole 11, Par 4, 321 yards Another tee off over water, and then a very well protected green. Keep
straight! This par 5 has a large lake all the way up the right and thick trees to the left. You must lie up in order to reach the green with accuracy, which is again an island green with bunkers left and right. Hole 13, Par 4 358 yards This hole is once again a tee off over water and then lined with thick forest. Hole 14, Par 4, 350 yards This hole is lined with a river which is very well hidden by trees, only the world's biggest slice will find the river. Avoid the large Oak in the fairway and your on your way to a par. Hole 15, Par, 4 408 yards This is up there as one of the hardest holes I've ever played. You have a choice to drive over 260 yards of water and risk being with a wedge of the green, or playing conservatively and playing around the lake and laying up with a 4 or 5 iron. Hole 16, Par 3, 156 yards This tee off over water on to a slopped green is a lovely little hole, watch out for the jumping fish in the lake that seem to pop up just as you take your swing. Hole 17, Par 4, 355 yards This tight hole demands a long and bold drive to be able t reach the small green. Hole 18, Par 4, 412 yards This is a great last hole to a great course, driving over water for the
last time, you seem to climb up the hill of the fairway slowly yet the
green is one of the easiest of the course. To Book anything from a single Tee Time to a complete golfing holiday package please contact us Golf
