Golf du Bois de Ruminghem - Pas de Calais - FRANCE18 Hole Parkland Golf Course Architect - Bill Baker The beautiful natural 18 hole golf course in France was built by English golf architect Bill Baker (Golf de Brigode, l'Amirauté à Deauville, Le Manoir Golf du Toucquet,...) in 1992, between the forest of Eperlecques and the woods of Ruminghem. The Eperlecques Forest is best known for the V2 bunker constructed during the second World War that was bombed by the Allied Forces. Golf du Bois de Ruminghem consists of two totally different parts. Hole 11 to 18 of the course is woodland with lots of ancient oak trees. The trees can punish bad shots heavily, while the adjoining fairways of the parkland are more forgiving. This requires a different approach on the tees in the woods and on the plain. The undulating American style greens are difficult to read, and together with the English style bunkers and ponds make Ruminghem a difficult but very interesting course.
