Red Course (Peter) 2905 metres and Par 36

Blue Course (Alice) 3127 metres and Par 36

Orange Course (Winnie) 3094 meters and Par 36

Architect: Ronald Fream (Open 1992)

This is not an oversized golfing complex as in the Disney world Orlando, but golf at Disneyland Paris currently provides an excellent choice of three loops of nine holes that can be combined into 18 holes of a championship standard. The golf course was built over flat terrain but the designer has added mounds and hazards to make an excellent golf course that is a pleasure to play.

When starting on the Red course you are immediately drawn to the many strategically placed bunkers. If this wasn't’t enough then the greens are designed to make putting very difficult and with fierce pin placement you will do well to keep under par on most holes. The Red course has three Par 3s, three Par 4s and three Par 5s which is very uncommon and makes for an interesting front nine. Four holes enjoy a water hazards that come well into play and the Par 3 fifth hole at only 130 metres will test your knowledge of clubs. It’s also worth mentioning the Par 5 sixth that ‘double-dog-legs’ and a huge lake just right of the green. The ninth hole is an exciting with its huge bunker and lake that need to be negotiated.

The Blue course at Disneyland Paris starts of fairly slowly but the long Par 3 fourth hole is hard to reach with an iron at 215 metres. The Par 5 fifth hole is a monster at 546 meters and most of them up hill. At the Par 3 seventh you are met by a huge bunker that wraps around the whole of the green. The seventh is a wonderful hole and very difficult as the green sits up on top of a big lake, is guarded by rocks and very elevated, anything short will be wet. The best is left to last as the ninth hole is the Signature hole at Disney. A long Par 5 at 481 metres and the Island green is difficult to reach in three.

The Orange course is probably the least popular but still has four water hazards and plays over 3000 metres. The second hole is worth a mention as its one of those strange holes that can be played on different fairways and the two lakes are connected by a small stream. Again the best hole is probably the ninth which has a large lake at the green and again will be difficult to reach in three.

The Club House and facilities are more than adequate. The quaintly named ‘Goofys’ pro shop is well stocked. The restaurant serves lovely food and the beer is very cold. A putting green in the shape of Mickey Mouse is adjacent to the clubhouse and there is also a chipping green and driving range.

Overall Disneyland Paris Golf Club is well worth a visit whilst the family are enjoying the two theme parks nearby. As you would expect from Disney Hotel accommodation and nightlife are in abundance so this could also be a great base for a Golfing Holiday as there are plenty of other quality courses in the area.
