BELLE DUNE COURSE REVIEW

Hole 1 "Le Pin Maritime" Par 4 328m hcp12
Don't do a first tee topper here! Try not to go too far right as well.
Short to medium iron approach.
Big undulating green.

Hole 2 "La Masette" Par 4 323m hcp 6
Got to hit it up the left here or you will not see the green.
Long thin green, but no bunkers

Hole 3 "Le Prunellier" Par 3 126m hcp 18
Relatively straight forward.
Watch out for the wind being stronger above the tree line.

Hole 4 "L'Aubepine" Par 5 444h hcp 16
Quite a tight Par 5. There is out of bounds to the right off the tee
Keep to the left of the fairway with your second to open up the green.

Hole 5 "Le Saule" Par 4 349m hcp 4
This one will make you think!
The ideal line is over the left edge of the sandy bank to the right of the fairway. Any further right will be a blind second shot.
The green slopes from back to front.

Hole 6 "La Scolopendre" Par 3 145m hcp 14
Not much to worry about here. Just keep it straight of the tee

Hole 7 "Le Tremble" Par 4 352m hcp 2
Not too tight off the tee.
Watch out for the lake to the left of the green.
Second shot may look shorter than it is

Hole 8 "L'Oyat" Par 5 437m hcp 8
Out of bounds right and sand dunes left.
You must find the fairway!
The elevated green means it's difficult to get home in two.
A very good hole

Hole 9 "L'Onagre" Par 4 279m hcp 10
Don't worry about the lake! You can clear it easily.
Second shot should be a wedge.
Don't over shoot the green!

Hole 10 "L'Agousier" Par 5 493m hcp 3
Any Par 5 that's stroke index 3 has got to be tough!
Just knock one down the middle, play up the left of the fairway with your second to open up the green, find the green with your third and knock the first putt stone dead.
Superb hole! Great par! Very happy author!

Hole 11 "Le Chevrefueille" Par 4 350m hcp 5
Try to drive up the right side. Deceptive second shot is longer than you think. Mind the bunker short left.

Hole 12 "La Parnassie" Par 3 131m hcp 13
Down hill par 3, watch out!
The wind will be stronger above the dunes, so take enough club if it's into the wind.

Hole 13 "Le Houblon" Par 5 hcp 1
If the tenth is tough, this is just beautiful! After the long walk from the 12th just take in the scenery before you play!
When you drive off, hit it long and straight.
Don't be greedy with the second shot, the fair way gets narrow and there's a pond to the right.
The approach shot is uphill to a small green so think about your club selection. Another superb hole!

Hole 14 "La Menthe Aquatique" Par 3 127m hcp 17
After the last hole you'll need a break so just as well this is straight forward.

Hole 15 "La Salicaire" Par 4 330m hcp 11
Don't go too far right of the tee, you'll be blocked out.
Uphill approach means take one club more.

Hole 16 "La Viperine" Par 4 256m hcp 15
You should've looked at this as you walked up 15.
No need for the driver, just a long iron with a bit of draw.
Try to get close to the pin with your second or you could have a very long putt.

Hole 17 "La Violette" Par 4 323m hcp 7
This ones quite tight, if you're going to miss the fairway, do it right not left.

Hole 18 "Le Roseau" Par 4 hcp 9
If you can stay left off the tee the lake shouldn't come into play.
Find the green with your approach. Get your par, then go and sit in the clubhouse and try to remember the best course in this part of France
